A guy, I think he was from Texas posted a yellow JH "Spider" on EBAY last summer. Does anyone know anything about him or the car? Did he sell it? I might be interested in buying it. If you know anything, please let me know here or at johnrlb@cox.net. Thanks.

John; I don't have information on where it went but I did save some photos from the CL listing in Dallas - if we're talking about the same car. I emailed the owner to ask about a couple of the mods on the car but never got a reply. Maybe this will help. Attachment: 00H0H_cIPmd7ah1nu_600x450.jpg (Downloaded 200 times)

Thanks for the pics. No question it's been modified but this "Spider" certainly looks like it would be fun and a real eye turner.I have a stock and very original JH that's so nice, I hate to drive it. I'm ready for an "extreme" version that I can drive every day and have fun with. This might be the one! Please pass along any contact info. Thanks again :)

The photo looks like the Jensen Healey "Avenger" which was how this car was described in a verbose Ebay posting about 10 years ago. The story was that a New York waiter had told him this car could thrash Corvettes and Ferraris and was the very rare Avenger. Just the sort of automotive authority I look to when purchasing a sports car!

The Avenger - sounds like it has super powers! I don't recall if any mention was made in the Craigslist post about the engine, but it does have 5 lug wheels. Anyway, here is a rear shot I saved from the ad. Attachment: 01111_2y7iVnuIYI8_600x450.jpg (Downloaded 172 times)

Is that a Ferrari badge on the boot lid? I guess if it has Corvette power it could be fast in the drag races.

Thanks for your help Xavier. I've decided to pass on the car. Just a little to extreme for me I guess. I appreciate your time and loved the pictures. Take care and thanks again.

I find the term "Spider" or "Spyder" to be an interesting one. It's been used by a number of manufacturers(Porsche, Alfa, and even a TR7) over the years to describe a particular model. Aside from the fact that they are all convertibles there doesn't seem to be any particular thing or combination of things that distinguishes from any other convertible. So I guess you could call a '72 Caddy Eldorado a Spider. Don't get me wrong, if the guy wanted to call his J-H a Spider that's OK with me. He did some pretty nice mods and I'm happy it's just one more J-H that's on the road.
