Does anyone have the bearing numbers for the front wheel bearings, the SKF numbers I had come up as NG.  ( LM 11748 outer & L44848 inner )  , the seal number I have CR 14857 shows as good,     Thanks,

Brett

Don't have anything from SKF or Timken, but I do have some Quentin Hazell (QH) numbers, which I believe refer to kits for one wheel.  They are:
Prior to January 1974: QWB 118 C
Begin in January 1974: QWB 118 CL

Please note that I have not personally verified these part numbers.  Also, it's my understanding that while the bearings themselves are the same for all cars, the early cars used a completely different seal design that was superseded circa January 1974.  I'd presume (but do not know for certain) that the kits mentioned above would have the appropriate additional parts.

As an alternative, if you have a friendly Vauxhall dealer in your neighborhood, you can ask for inner bearing 6368762 and outer bearing 6368763.

Addendum.
Spotted an ad on eBay UK (item number 7993435684). The part numbers given there were:
Unipart -- GHK 1077
QH -- QWB 118C
SKF -- VKBA 512.

Not quite sure whether all of these numbers are for a single-wheel set, and based on the eBay photo the QH part number may be for a two-wheel set.  And once again, I have not personally verified these part numbers.

Thanks for the info Mark.

Still could'nt pull up the individual bearings as per SKF or Timken bearing numbers, so I pulled my front hub off to double check the numbers stamped on the bearings themselves, and it seem's that what I was reading as LM11748 was actually LM11749 for the cone, (bearing unit) and LM11710 for the cup, on the outer bearing, checked these numbers against timken web site and they came back as good.

For the inner bearing, what I was reading as L44848 I still read that way, and I knew that was NG so I decided to just clean both bearings off and mike them up,

Outer.   ID  .687"    OD  1.570"  width .545"

Inner.    ID  1.0625"  OD  1.980"  width .560"

So I checked these measurements against the bearing index bible in the resource center here at work and they came back as good measurements, for the corresponding bearings and cups, SKF and Timken.

Outer              cone bearing #  LM11749      /    Cup  LM11710

Inner              cone bearing # L44649           /    Cup L44610

So I will be picking up a couple on the way home tonight and hopefully fit them up, price at the bearing shop, outer cone and cup $5.75, inner c/c $5.44 , if I bump into a problem I'll let you know but for now I think things look good, hope this helps someone else's project.

Cheers                Brett.

Contrary to everything else Jensen, the complete wheel bearing sets are common and available at virtually any auto-parts store (I've had a number fail while I was in the middle of nowhere).

Find someone behind the counter who will go back to the rack and look at the packages.  The boxs will be labeled:

Inner:  Set1 or A1

Outer:  Set4 or A4
