Okay have the rear suspension apart. Bushings on lower control arms came out as described elsewhere..no problem. Question is..how do I get the bushings out on the differential side of the upper control arms? Not much room to work there. Do I drill the rubber out and use the hacksaw like I've done for the other bushings , or can they be pounded out? Not sure I can get a drill in that space.

Eric

Pound them out with a long piece of wood an d a heavy hammer. The metal jacket protrudes from the mount. Use lots of penetrating oil!

Im using the Delta bushings at the rear. As others have noted, the crush tubes are too small for the bolts. Appears that the correct diameter is about 7/16". Is this correct? Do I just drill them out with a drill press? Also, on my car, 3 of the 4 bolts holding the upper and lower control arms on each side are identical, but the 4th has a slightly different locking nut. It is this way on both sides. As I assumed they were all identical, I have no idea which location the 1 "different" nut goes on each side. Thoughts?

Thanks!
Eric

I would say the "different" nut was what came to hand the last time the suspension was pulled down.  I used all-new hardware right throughout, so everything matches. Oh...and use an anti-sieze when re-assembling. The next person to pull it down will thank you - and that may be you!

What size drill bit did you use for the crush tubes? Looks to be about 7/16" in my estimation.

I don't recall drilling any crush tubes. The bolts I had to replace the originals (same size) fitted nicely, and yes, I think they were 7/16" UNF.

I used Superpro bushes, not Delta-supplied bushes.

The super pro I used for the rear upper control arms worked fine with the bolts. Its the Delta bushings that are too small.
