Lads: I need to replace my front marker/turn signal units, which are badly damaged, and were glued in with RTV by the previous owner. Were the front markers used in any other cars? I searched on eBay and the ones listed are not correct. Martin Robey has new units that are reasonable, but if I can find a good used set, they typically are half of new. The ones on eBay are for the Austin Marinas, but they are not correct for the JH. So are there alternate makes/models that I can do a search on in pursuit of a used set? Thanks, Vance Last edited on 03-04-2023 12:12 am by Darth V8R |

Vance, I had the same problem when I first got my J/H in the '90s. Knowing that the Brits were famous for their creative parts bins builds I decided to look around for replacements from other makes since the amber lens alone from Delta was $71. I looked at a lot of different makes including Spitfire/GT6 and rubber bumper Aston-Martins and Jag Xjs. All I was able to find was similar but not the same. While the J/H does use some of the same parts as other makes like taillights and side marker lights to the best of my knowledge the front amber assemblies are unique to the J/H. With the advent of the internet matching parts is easier to do nowadays than it was back then, maybe you'll have better luck than I did.I ended up biting the bullet and buying a new light assembly and two new lenses.

Rubber bumper turn signal lenses are used in TVR’s and probably others, steel bumper lenses I have not seen on other cars.

Brent, The TVR units do look like the same lights but I'm not sure if TVR would be a good alternative source. Like Aston-Martin which uses the same taillights both makes were limited production and expensive and their replacement parts if available probably are too.

Lads Quick update - I was in the process of setting up email notification on eBay for the front marker lights. Great feature, you set up your search, then turn on email alerts. eBay checks every day and emails you if your search gets a match. Anyway, I was testing my search, and I got a hit for a complete, used marker assembly. The pictures show it to be in good shape, and I got another hit for a marker housing. My lenses are in terrific shape, so I will be able to piece together two complete front marker lights from the remnants of my markers, plus the bits I found on eBay. Free shipping, too. If you ever are looking for a difficult to find part, I recommend the eBay auto notification feature. I have used it before with good results. On my Triumph TR8 I was looking for some NLA parts, and after my search ran for several weeks an email showed up and there were my missing parts. The trick is getting the right search. In the case of my JH, the search was: front +(marker, turn) +(TVR, Aston Martin, Jensen Healey) -(bulb, bulbs, marina, side) The minus sign means exclude listings with any of these keywords, the plus sign means that a listing must have at least one of the keywords. Give it a try next time you need some bit or bob. Be sure to toggle the "worldwide" feature, so if they turn up in the UK, you will still see them. Vance: I've got tons of new and used J-H(ONLY) parts, likely the largest in the USA. (Don't use "fee-pay" --too expensive) best wishes, bruce
