Check out this link to Rareelectrical gear reduction starter that lists lots of make/models that should work with JH MK II. I know - call them - but I just thought I'd ask the JHPS gurus as well

$120.00

It for an early Lotus Elite 1.2 litre which I believe used a Ford 105e engine not the 907.

If you look at the British Starters page they also list one for the Jensen Healey. And it's priced $15.00 more! Does this mean our cars are getting more valuable??

The proper starter at Classic Garage is $197. The $120 starter won't work.

I've never had a problem with the stock starter and I have flat top J&E pistons. What is the issue being solved here?

Cheers,

Kurt

My starter is on its last knees... It gave up completely two years ago, then I tore it apart, cleaned it out and bolted it back together. I had to bodge the axial restraint on the axle of it so it is a matter of time before it gives up again. They DO wear out!

If you are in a metropolital city, take your old starter to a starter and alternator shop that does big trucks and such. There is one locally that rebuilds both my JH starters and alternators for about 85 bucks each...they come back like new and work like new...
