I got my manifold today. Is it fairly common to have to drill out the holes that connect the carbs to the manifold. It looks like the bolt holes are smaller than the manifold. My eduacted guess is that he retapped the holes to fit a different size bolt. Just curious if anyone else has run into this problem. Thanks Jeremy

I haven't seen that before, so I'd say it's not common, but owners do weird things all the time. The original mounting studs are almost impossible to find (I assume you're talking about a Euro manifold) - the size is very odd, mixed metric deal. Similair sized studs with a standard thread to replace them are easy to get, so it might be worth changing them.

Got that figured out Gregg, thanks. Next question is, I had 2 fittings come with the manifold. One of course is the brass one, but there is a black plastic one that fits on the other side. Does the engine side need to be plugged? Thanks Jeremy Mau (on my dad computer and he didn't change the locks!!!!)

The plug on the front should be metal, not plastic! The brass elbow at the back wil connect to the hose that runs to the brake booster.
