Hello, I have a pair of Dellorto 45s that I'm going to put on my car. Can anyone tell me what thickness K&N filters I should use??? I'm guessing the 3 1/4". thanks, norm Vandal |

Just make sure you have at least 1 inch of clearance in front of the velocity stacks. |

What’s the recommended velocity stack height for a stock JH engine with Dell 40’s Thanks. Brett |

I have the 1 5/8" that were on the 40's when I bought them. They may be original JH stacks. I think its longer for horsepower and shorter for torque. |

OK, annoying speed bump # @#$&(*(&* : I've seen K&Ns in various underhood pictures but when I bought the oval ones that looked just like them, they don't FIT!! Arggghh. The DelO 45s are about half an inch (oh, 10 or 15 mms for you more modern Euros) too close together. Or said another way, the K&Ns are about half an inch too big. They hit in the middle. I get one on and the other won't fit. What's up??? It's the complete kit from JHPS so there's nothing unusual about it. David, moaning in Sebastopol, and probably going to have to return 'em and wait another week. |

The K&N filters we sell are made specifically for the Jensen Healey. They fit all Webers, 40mm Dellortos and 45mm Dellortos. If they don't fit it's probably because you have non-standard equipment velocity stacks. Not sure what your other spacing problem is, more detail would help. |

Thanks for answering, Greg. I never know who's checking on these older, quiet forums. Well, Blimey, I didn't know JHPS sold K&Ns. I bought them online elsewhere. I see the problem now is that I bought the larger of the two sizes that fit DelOs and they interfere in the middle. I found an epix of a DelO setup with the smaller of the two sizes that worked just fine. I was hoping for maximum filter area and obviously mismeasured before I bought them. BUT, my trusty grinder and a bit of hand filing prevailed. I decided to remove a bit of cover material so they would fit rather than return them and get the smaller size. They're on, they look great and the car is a HOOT to drive. My first JH and it's a blast. I'll post some epix or a link to my website when I've got it together, another few weeks more or less. David |
