I have parts of three types of air filter covers. It appears the first choice is an air box assembly. I may have parts of that.I need something until then. The two jensens are a 1973 and a 1975. Would the air box have compatible components?
The two sets of covers I have are different neither oval. Set one is round column the other is a dome with snap clip.
Any thoughts of which to use?

I think those dome covers work well..Delta has replacement rubber filters for the inside of them. I prefer to use K&N filters myself. Not cheap, but do well...unless you are a purist and have to have that muffler like thing on the fender well.

If you have Strombergs (looks like you do) I have a complete set of K&N filters and associated hardware, the whole conversion kit, that I'd be happy to part with. They were used by the previous owner for less than 8000 miles, and when I did the restoration I went back to the original "muffler like thing on the fender well" that Frank spoke of. I'll never use them, so I'd be happy to work something out with you.

Here's a not great pic of them from about 3 years ago:

And here's what I went back to:

I have the parts for the "box thing" why did you go back to them? pros/cons?
Are the K&N reusable/cleanable?

I just went back to the original "muffler type" because I was trying to keep the car original during the restoration. You'll get all kinds of opinions regarding which is better, and I figured since it wasn't like I'm racing her I wasn't worried about the possible 2-3HP either way.

Yes, the K&Ns are designed to be a lifetime filter. They have a special cleaning solution and oil that you use as a maintenance item.
