I need to replace 2 of my idle mixture screws...anyone know how to remove them? Also, as many people have done before me, I took out the pin that the float pivots on and broke the very brittle piece that holds the pin in. I read on another forum that this can be fixed at a good jewelry repair shop. Has anyone done this or am I resigned to buying a whole new top cover? If so, does anyone have one? Thanks for the help. |

Let me know how you make out with getting the casting repaired I did the same thing but was able to drill a tiny hole and loop a small wire to hold the pin in place. Brett |

Brett, no problem I have ordered the Des hammill book but until it arrives I don't know how to get the idle mixture screws out (I have to replace 2 of them). I want to order them but I need to know which ones i have as there are 4 different versions for the DHLA I believe. Anyone who knows how to do this please let me know. |

Hey Brett, I asked s jewelry repair shop to try and laser weld the piece back on but they couldn't do it. can you take me through how you did it, ie with the wire?? I can't find any of these top casting pieces anywhere...very frustrating. thanks! |

Eurocarb LTD. at this site should have another cover for you but I think when I checked it was pretty $$$ thats why I thought I would try the wire loop. http://www.dellorto.co.uk It's been a couple of years and seems to be holding up, the piece that broke on mine still held the pin at a level hieght, thats a must. I will sketch it out and e-mail you privately what mine looks like and how I did it. Brett |
