The head gasket in my kit is metal on both sides with a layer of asbestos between the metal. I've heard the Geotz (spelling????) gasket is the way to go when doing the 2.2L conversion with high lift cams and HC pistons. Anyone have an idea what my head gasket is? I've already installed the head but if I have to change the gasket this would be the time to do it before I finish my engine rebuild and before I re-install the engine into the car.

Hi, As far as I am aware here in the UK you can only get the old type metal gaskets (if that's what it is) as 'new old stock'. They are thinner that the current non metal gaskets and such give a bit more compression. They are very sought after here in the UK and on ebay usually fetch 30-40% more than its modern counterpart. You don't happen to have a drawer full? Jon
