Has any one used or contemplated the use of ARP fastners for headstuds or in other areas and is it really necessary! I would be keen to hear from Espirit2 as I have found your epistles most encouraging. regards Malcolm

Malcolm, After building numerous engine myself, I can say I've never run into a problem where either the head or lower studs stretched. However, if you decide to build a full-blown 13:1 c/r blown monster....you may need the added protection. There are other areas of the engine that need reinforcing, and will fail LONG before you get stretch in the head studs. You can do it for peace of mind, but for me, I've got better places to put my money. Judson
