In 2001 I retired my beloved '74 Jensen Healey after 22 years as my sole vehicle. Meticulously maintained for all of its 90,000 miles (even though many of those miles were logged on gravel roads (and worse) while carrying two kayaks to remote water), the car neither burns or drops any oil, and ran like a top when last driven. It was, however, getting a bit rough around the edges and, in my reclining years, I was becoming less enthusiastic about the spritzer bottle air conditioning system. Also, increasingly, the transmission was popping out of 3rd gear when accelerating. The last time that I investigated repairs to the transmission, there seemed to be no attractive options (I believe that the stumbling block was the unavailabiltiy of parts, though my memory may not be serving me well here). Does anyone have any suggestions?
