I've searched around and checked the manuals, but haven't been able to find any spec for the differential flange to driveshaft torque for the 4 attaching bolts on the 4-speed. If anyone has it, let me know- Thanks, Corey

Assuming the later, larger flanges that use the 3/8" X 24 threads/inch, standard torque would be 44 ft-lbs for a grade 5 bolt. 40 would probably be all as there is very little tension or compression of the bolts

Thanks for the reply. The bolts are on a 1973 and are 5/16", if that makes a difference.

I think the drive shaft flanges use those compressed out of round lock nuts, don’t they? I’ve never worried about the torque on those.

So, according to the torque chart for grade 5, fine pitch(24 threads/inch) for a 5/16" diameter bolt, that would be 22lbs-ft
