When I removed the engine from the car there was one shim (1/8") but I'm unsure which side it came from. General question is, what is the purpose of these shims? Does the engine need to sit at a particular angle or is it more likely that it was in place to provide clearance for the exhaust header? Thanks for any experienced answers on this. Corey |

The aluminum shims that are SOMETIMES used are on the driver's/left side engine mount, so the steering shaft is not hitting the exhaust header. |
