Got a used engine stand (no instructions) and this is my first use of one of these. Are there preferred bolt holes to use for the 4 attachment points or particular strength bolts?

I don't know about preferred but I used the four that would fit my engine stand. I'm being lazy by not going out back in the dark to the car shed to look. I think they are attached to each side by the bottom of the head and the block by the starter and across from that. I believe I used Grade 5 hardware but either Grade 5 or 8 should be fine.

thanks. my concern was that some of the attachment options near the starter "look" weaker and I didn't want to risk cracking any of the forging.
