I Will try to keep up the things i do on the car here. What is on the to do list; - remove US bumpers - new cooler - compleet overhaul of the front en rear suspention - carb fixing, or dellortos setup - oil leaks - timingbelt - ingnition - steering wheel - wheels panasport ? The interior of the car and the roof all ready brand new,.

mtechwim, The bumpers are the same for all Jensen-Healeys, that is to say Jensen didn't build a European and US version of the bumpers like, for example, the TR7 which had different US and European spec bumpers. The J-H did have early(metal)and late(rubber)bumpers. If you're talking about fabricating a set of new lightweight custom bumpers some guys have done that, you can save close to 100 lbs. If you're thinking of swapping from rubber to metal that might be challenging as the mountings were very different. Also finding a clean used set of metal bumpers might be difficult.

Hi there, thanks for your answer. In the mean time I found a set of metal bumpers, the rear brackets were on the metal bumper and fits fine. For the front a made a set of brackets, need to make some drawing en measuring of it, than I will put them on the car.

Lots of work done the last weeks - all bushings front and rear - weelbearings front - engine and gear mounts replacement - differential oil - brakes rear - refurbishing front calipers - clutch kabel, - placing metal bumpers front and rear( including bracket development) - sealing trunk lid - sealing air inlet heating/fresh air - fuellines and tank - steering knokkel, oil and booth replacement - cleaning stone guard spaces front and rear - stoneguard and sealing - front seal roof - replace the upper beam front window ( cracks) - start cleaning up black stuff in engine bay - Weel arch protectant - new champion radiator and overflow bottel - fixing up sun visors So next weeks still lots to do, so I can ride it when weather gets nice and sunny. Almost read with all off the small jobs, -handbrake light - radio - dash lights - air valves at foot space, working now - door seals replaces - door locks set, now closing perfect - placed some dynamat in the doors, sounds a lot better when closing door - oil change gearbox - valve play check - HTD cambelt with new pulleys - stainless wiper blades - driverseat placed 1 inch backwards, to get more legroom - moto lita wooden steeeringwheel - 123 ingniton installed - broken oilpump replacement - new screenwash bottle with pump - hood alignment - hood and choke kabel replacement - compression test - airbox repaint - trunk lock refurbishment - outside lightning check and fix - Waterhoses replaced - fixed the Not working clock :-) - inside protection of the sills and bars. - fenders cleaned inside engine bay, and fixed some brake fluid damage on the paint. Now buzzy with overhauling a set of replacement carbs ( Stromberg) I noticed that there was something wrong with the present carbs, I guess the came from a Triump. So ordered a refurbisch set and 2 new needles. And some tools to replace the jets. ALso a full cut of and a two way (Low) fuelpressure regulator in the engine bay. And a lot of help from members, thanks for that !

I did putt u short movie of the first start on FB today. Still need some tuning to do, carbs and ignition. Also u bit of fuelpressure trim, it’s a bit on the high side with 3 psi. And bad luck with the sigarete lighter, it was stock without noticing, now a couple of wires are burnd out.

I wish mine had looked that good when I first got it. The fuse box was completely gone and there were just wires twisted together with an occasional in line fuse.

I already opened up the wire loom from the fusebox to the foot compartment, to check if there also issues can be found. The only wire that looks bad is the wire for the backwards driving lights looks bad, that one I will replace. Hope that Anton has a good spare fusebox for me. Maybe will change the wiring in a way that’s more secure and safe. Place a second fusebox in the footcompartiment ( 6 way from Volvo) and wire that to the main box. With only a few better wires from one to the other box.

mt: the early J-Hs did NOT have a pigtail fuse(located under the regular fuse box) like the later cars(don't have the info when they started that). As you know, U.K. cars did not require side light markers as the USA ones, so they ran both the negative and the POSITIVE wires for the rear side markers between the outer fender and the thin foam padding for the "U" channel in the very rear(need to remove the tail lights to get at it). Needles to say, the foam wears away and the steel edge grinds the wires causin a short. I and many other have drilled a hole in the center of the "U" channel and put a rubber grommet in as it should have been done from the beginning. I have had to replace quite a few wiring harnesses that have melted all the way up to the foot well, where the bundle acts a heat sink. best wishes, bruce
