All, I am new to the JHPS Boards. I have a question about exterior trim.  My JH-5 has trim on the door and front/rear quarter panel. I have been told this is not stock.  Adding fuel to the fire, I can't find any pictures of this particular trim arrangement on any JH-5 pictures on the web.  Is this stock? I am prepping this car for paint.  I really don't like the trim and would love to remove it and paint over this area, but I don't want to remove something unique. Thanks for any input.  This site is great! Jeff Portland Oregon

It is not stock and was either installed by the dealer or a previous owner. You can remove it before paint and not feel bad about it being gone.

If you check some other pictures you will see the location is a little different also. That trim is available at most auto type stores.

Thanks Art!  It is off the car and won't be going back on.

I was wondering the same thing. Thanks for posting. Mine will soon be gone as well.

In fact, the plastic 'coach line' was introduced on the MK2 Jensen-Healey among several other items in an attempt to brighten up the car. These include the finishing strips on the hood and around the turn lights. As far as I am aware the coach line continued with the 5 speed.
