Regarding the carbon canister: I understand how to hook up the top three ports: center port to the carbs, one peripheral port to the gas tank, and the second peripheral port capped off. My question is what's the bottom port for? I have two canisters, and they both have a large port on the bottom coming off to one side. Is this to be left open, capped, or cennected to something? Ross

I think you have two MGB carbon canisters. The JH does not have a bottom hose. On the MGB, the larger lower hose goes to the anti-run on valve.
