I've been hunting endlessly for a good substitute to the Chrome Finisher that goes around the instrument cluster. This is the part that is typically stapled in. I had ordered a replacement from the UK, but that really didn't fit, at all. Recently I came across a small 5MM Chrome strip that really looks like it would be a great replacement. The Chrome is attached to a very thin tapered plastic so it fits into the gap. I'm going to test using some 3M automotive tape. I cut a small sample of the Chrom strip and placed on my cluster, pictures attached. Attachment: JH Finisher 1.jpg (Downloaded 176 times)

My daughter,Patten Laurel, can sew you some silver braid in a clear plastic strip for a very nominal sum. You will need to remove the ten thousand micro staples that held the old strip around the bezel. I then use some very good contact cement to hold the new strip in place..... She has done a number of these for some of the Jensen Folk. You can reach her by email at patten1955@gmail.com Frank Schwartz

JPJH, MacGregor in Canada lists that chrome finisher part for 7 or 8 bucks. I've ordered other parts from them and been pleased with the quality.

I tried to buy in and was told no longer available, plus there on line pricing is 10 years old. Brett

Hi All, Thank you for the additional feedback. I also tried MacGregor's and should have mentioned initially the item was NLA. For this product, I installed the trim strip using 1/4" 3M automotive trim tape and a little clear adhesive around the corners. I installed the new finisher lines along the original's lines. As part of this work, I also freshened the gauges, cleaned the glass, new gaskets and added chrome surrounds to make the old Smiths look a little nicer. looks great, where did you get the chrome surround material. Also like the chrome surrounds on the instruments as this dresses up the dash nicely....source for these
