There are 2, #2 size posidrive/crosspoint screws in the very rear bottom(outside) under the rear deck carpet. Once these are removed, remove the shift knob and place in a gear so the lever points down and to the rear. Loosen the cord wrapped around the shift boot and slide the entire console to the rear to JUST clear the front vertical radio/heater piece. Now from the passenger side, lift up the console slightly to expose the 3 wires going to the cigarette lighter. The purple wire is always "HOT" so be sure it is protected from grounding.
