Can anyone tell me exactly where the chassis number is stamped on the rail as I have to uncover it for a police inspection. A picture would be great. Andi

Hi Top of front chassis rail just in front of engine mounting. I've had two cars with the numbers , RH on one and LH on the other. The chassis number in both cases is stamped onto a small welded on plate. You might need to scrape the paint of to see the numbers.

Thanks It was right there under the air box on the drivers side. (for the UK spec anyway)

Plus I found another, a small metal plate welded to the the front seat rail support on the drives side US.
