Greetings all!

I have been looking for a  new project for awhile (as though the three projects in the garage aren't enough) and having long been a fan of the JH, am considering putting an on-line bid on a GT.  I had been leaning towards a rag top but given my love of wagons and hatchbacks, I find the GT especially intriguing.  Also, at my age, the shine off the top of my head might blind oncoming drivers if I drove a convertible.

Besides the obvious differences in body trim both inside and out, are there any other significant differences between the GT and the roadsters?  Does one handle differently from the other?  I assume the GT is heavier but what effect does that have if any?  Are there any differences in suspensions?  Anything else that differs?

And finally, if anyone knows anything about the car listed on eBay (#4606194815), I would certainly be interested in knowing.

Thanks,

Tony Fontaine

Welcome to the board! The GT has several upgrades from the later Healeys (74 1/2 and JH5's):

Front sway bar, air conditioning, power windows, more sound deadening, new dash layout, fan clutch, catayltic converter.

I have heard the handeling was not quite on par with the JH but that is easily rectified with upgrades from the club store. Bolt-on power is also readily available so your GT can go as good as it looks.

Watch out for rust in the floors, fenders, and rockers.

Hi Tony,

Welcome!

I haven't seen the car but I know the seller. I am in the process of restoring my Jensen Healey and Marck (the seller of the GT) has been extremely helpful. A real car nut and Jensen enthusiast.

I was trying to figure out how I could buy that GT and still keep my wife. It looks like a really good starting point for a project car.

Oh well, all of the above is now moot. Cast a bid but was outbid in the final minute. Guess I'll keep looking.
