Dear GT owners I am trying to track down an original jack and wheelbrace for my GT. The GT parts book picture page showing the jack is exactly the same as the corresponding page in the J-H parts book. However the parts numbers are different, as follows: Wheelbrace 99236 (GT) 90528 (J-H) Jack 99234 (GT) 90564 (J-H) The GT and J-H jack descriptions are also different - "jack c/w tee handle" for the GT and "scissor jack and handle" for the J-H. A few years back I asked Jason Lawrence at Rejen about the GT jack, and he described a jack with a long 2-piece handle with a wooden cross-piece. I suspect he might have been describing the Metallifacture jack supplied with Morgan 4 Series cars in the 1960s, as in the attachment and at this very useful link (http://www.classic-british-car-jacks.uk ... acks_2.htm). Do any of you fellow GT owners have an original factory jack and wheelbrace and, if so, can you please post a few pictures? Many thanks in advance. Best wishes, Nigel Attachment: 1960s Morgan 4 series metallifacture jack.jpg (Downloaded 71 times)

Hi Nigel, I am about 2500km from my car at the moment but can confirm the the Morgan jack looks very similar even down to the wooden handle. IIRC the extensions are square and fit inside each other. Gordon

Hi Nigel Here's the pics I posted in response to your query on the JOC website in case our friends in the US are curious: Attachment: Jensen GT jack p1 Jul 2019.JPG (Downloaded 41 times) Last edited on 07-29-2019 01:03 pm by chrisl |

Just an FYI, the jack in picture #2 is the same one originally supplied with the TR7 although the jack handle is different, a single angled piece.

The TR7 jack is very similar, but it has two rivets attaching the top part to the arms, whereas the GT jack only has one. Plus the TR7 jack top part lacks the flanges that the GT top part has. According to this website (http://www.classic-british-car-jacks.uk), the TR7 jack is a Smiths unit, while the GT jack is Metallifacture.
