An update of stuff originally posted on the old board, re-posted here per Greg Fletcher's comments elsewhere on this board. Information is believed reliable but use it at your own risk. ====================================== NOTE ON MATERIALS: Fuel- and Oil-resistant: Buna-N (nitrile) is the usual choice. This material WILL NOT WORK FOR LONG with brake fluid. Brake fluid-resistant: Perfluoro-elastomer or Ethylene Propylene (EP) may be acceptable, depending on what other fluids are likely to be encountered. For high-temp environments, Viton may be the only suitable material but has a limited lifespan. None of these materials is inexpensive. Consult your supplier. DANGER: Choose your suppliers carefully! I have had very poor luck with o-rings from Mainland China, which apparently have a service life best measured in hours rather than months or years. Sudden O-ring failures can result in lethal disasters. ====================================== DISTRIBUTOR INTERNAL OIL SEAL Description: Shaft seal, 0.50" shaft, 0.75" bore, 0.125" height. Material: Fuel- and Oil-resistant. Used on: Lucas 23D, 25D distributors. OEM P/Ns: Jensen: None. Lucas: Unknown. Source: Chicago Rawhide CR4912 (exact replacement). [Verified fit.] Source: Transcom TCM 13x19x3VG (nearest metric size). Source: McMaster-Carr 9505K17 (different seal style). [Verified fit.] DISTRIBUTOR EXTERNAL O-RING Description: O-ring, circa 0.937" ID, 0.070" thick. JH service bulletin 73-18 changed this to an o-ring some 0.079" thick, which apparently is a custom, no-longer-available metric part, most likely 23.5mm ID x 2mm thick. Material: Fuel- and Oil-resistant. Used on: Lucas 23D, 25D distributors. OEM P/Ns: Jensen: 93025 (0.070" thick), 93027 (0.079" thick). Lucas: 188639 (0.070" thick). Source: Delta Motorsports 188639. All the ones I've received from Delta have been the 0.070" part. Source: Moss 163-750. Source: AS568A-021, 0.926" ID, 0.070" thick. OIL PRESSURE RELIEF VALVE O-RING Description: O-ring, circa 0.637" ID, circa 0.063" thick. Material: Fuel- and Oil-resistant. Used on: Spring retainer, Lotus 907 oil pump. OEM P/Ns: Jensen: 93921 (early engines) or part of 93539 (later engines). Lotus: A907E6099Z (early engines) or part of B907E0372Z (later engines). Source: AS568A-016, 0.614" ID, 0.070" thick. [Verified fit] ZS CARBURETOR FLOAT BOWL PLUG O-RING Description: O-ring, circa 0.625" ID, circa 0.093" thick. Material: Fuel- and Oil-resistant. Used on: Float bowl plug. OEM P/Ns: Jensen: 93950. [Verified fit] ZS CARBURETOR THROTTLE BYPASS VALVE O-RING Description: O-ring, circa 0.187" ID, circa 0.0625" thick. Material: Fuel- and Oil-resistant. Used on: Throttle bypass valve adjuster shaft. OEM P/Ns: Jensen: None. Zenith: Unknown. Source: AS568A-008, 0.176" ID, 0.070" thick. [Verified fit] ZS CARBURETOR MIXTURE ADJUSTER O-RING Description: O-ring, circa 0.250" ID, circa 0.070" thick. Material: Fuel- and Oil-resistant. Used on: Mixture needle adjustment screw. OEM P/Ns: Jensen: Unknown. Zenith: 019657. Source: Delta Motorsports 019657. Also part of ZE15K carb overhaul kit. Source: Moss 365-420. Source: AS568A-010, 0.239" ID, 0.070" thick. [Verified fit] ZS CARBURETOR TEMP COMPENSATOR LARGE WASHER Description: Circular flat gasket, 0.500" ID, 0.625" OD, 0.052" thick. Lotus: A026S0086A. Source: Delta Motorsports 93631. Source: AS568A-225, 1.859" ID, 0.139" thick. [Verified fit] JH-ONLY PDWA INTERNAL O-RING Description: Cylindrical o-ring, circa 0.226" ID, 0.365" OD, 0.076" thick. Material: Brake fluid-resistant. Used on: Brake PDWA internal shuttles (pistons). Quantity 2 per PDWA. OEM P/Ns: Jensen: N/A. Girling: Unknown. Source: Unknown. Comments: AS568A-010, 0.239" ID, 0.070" thick, seems a bit small on ID and OD but might work for a while. I purchased a bag of these (in EP) a while back but have yet to try them out. I'm willing to give away pairs of these o-rings to anyone willing to try them out. If you're seriously interested, send me an email and I'll give you an address to which you can send a SASE. No charge, but I'd like to know how things work out. The offer will expire if I should ever run low on the o-rings.

I know the nitrile is the usual choice, but I prefer the Class 1, military grade Viton o-rings- they have exceptional chemical and oil resistance. Temperature range is -15° to +400° F. These do not fall apart from contact with oil. What ever you do, void the stuff from China, you can't be sure of the quality. I'm working on a selection of premium quality, Viton o-rings for the JH to be available in the Club Store soon.

Hi Greg, While looking over these old posts, I noticed that you were going to offer Jensen Healey O-rings through the Club Store. Are they available? I am currently looking for the two small cam tower O-rings and the distributor O-ring. I am hestitant to go to the local hardware store for these. Ed
