Hints, Suggestions, ideas...........

The car was running fine in the fall (2007) and I put her away in the garage for the winter. Now I,m just starting to get her ready for the road. Fully charged battery, (old gas with additive for storage) After about a half an hour she caught but not without a few very LOUD backfires. My problem is now it is running very rough almost like 2 cylinders are not working. Lots of gas smell and some gas expulsion from the front carb (strombergs) Is there some odd ball thing with JHs I should know about.

I followed the same routine with other cars and have yet to run into the same problem in previous springs (TR6,Alfa,MG...)

Advice or info would be greatly appreciated. I,m going to hit te garage again tomorrow.

Dave

Sounds like the carbs are gumming up, especialy the front one to me, try spray carb cleaner as a quickie, but I think your best bet is to drop them out and give them a good cleaning.

Good luck, Brett.
