Thanks for the advice everyone. I decided to get one of the gear reduction units. I am not that worried about OE appearance, and now I know I will never have to worry about the starter. Maybe someone should write a review on these. Gustafson Machine seems to make them all for the various dealers that stock them, so maybe the club store could even sell them.
