WD-40 displaces water which is still somewhere in your engine.

Where did that water go? It's either sitting in the cylinders or in the oil pan I would put a few squirts of oil in each cyl and turn the engine again. Then drain the oil and change the filter. The sooner you get it running, the less chance of having rusty rings. WD-40 displaces water which is still somewhere in your engine.
