 There is also supposed to be an o-ring around the coolant passage at the front of the cylinder head. Older engines did not have this and sometimes it is left out of engine rebuilds even on the later engines. If the #1 cylinder looks much cleaner than the others, then this is likely the problem.

You can also get 907 engine parts parts from Dave Bean Engineering (209) 754-5802, JAE (805) 967-5767 as well as other Lotus distributors.
