My question on the Martin Robey website here in the UK there are two NLA parts 18 and 19, a spring and a clip of some description, when I took mine apart I could not see these parts. Do you know if these are essential?

You did not say if you have the Girling or Lockheed brakes. If you have the Lockheed, parts 18 and 19 are off the shelf "E" clips, available at any hardware store. It looks like one of them is now available from Martin Robey.
If you have the Girling, I would say 18 and 19 are not needed. The Triumph Spitfire uses the exact same brake parts, and they do not use the aforementioned parts. See the attached diagram.
