If you're unfortunate enough to have an engine fire the first thing you should do on your way out of the car is pop the hood. During a fire the hood release almost always fails and you can't get the hood open.
If you do get the hood latch to release some things to remember. The hood will be very hot to the touch, you can burn your hand. Also when you raise the hood have the extinguisher ready to go. When the hood is raised O2 will be added to the fire which could cause a flareup so be prepared. If there's to much fire just drop the hood and wait for the FD. You can always get another Jensen-Healey you can't get another you.
